JACK FROST

$50.00 sponsored towards adoption fee! ADOPTION FEE: $50.00

Jack Frost is a very affectionate boy! He puts his arms on your shoulders when you hold him, and rubs your cheek with his head. He loves sitting in boxes (especially his Avon box) or on a soft spot by a window. At bedtime he’ll lie next to you, but will probably be in his Avon box when you wake up! Jingleballs are his favorite toys. Jack is very good about using his litter box, and lets you trim his nails with a clipper. He’s done well in small or large spaces, so would probably do fine in an apartment. If you’d love to be greeted every day with head rubs and loud purring, this sweet boy may be for you! He rides really well in the car when he needs to go to the vet clinic or travel with you on your other adventures. Jack Frost is FIV+, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.  Please call Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals at 701-840-5047 or email jenni.svfa@gmail.com if you are interested in Jack Frost or if you have any questions regarding FIV.

WHAT IS FIV? Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is one of the most common and infectious diseases of cats around the world. In infected cats, FIV attacks the immune system, leaving the cat vulnerable to infections. Although cats infected with FIV may appear normal for years, they eventually suffer from immune deficiency, which allows normally harmless bacteria or viruses found in the everyday environment to potentially cause severe illnesses. Though there is no cure for FIV, recent studies suggest that cats with FIV commonly live average life spans, as long as they are not also infected with feline leukemia virus. While FIV is contagious, cats typically do not transmit the virus by sharing an eating bowl with other cats or through other feline contact actions like:  Social grooming, sneezing, and sharing a litter box.
