available for adoption

The following are pets that are available for adoption:

MEEKO

Meet our new foster cat, sweet Meeko! He was found cold and hungry outside a home in Jamestown.  The people that found him couldn't bear to leave such a friendly social cat outside to fend for himself. They saved his life by bringing him into their home. Meeko is loving life in his foster home and gets along with the owner's dog and cat. He always uses the litter box and scratching post leaving the home's furniture alone. Sadly, because Meeko was abandoned outside in the freezing weather, he will lose part of his ears due to frost bite.  But, if you are looking for a young chill cuddly cat who has lots of love to give to his humans, Meeko is your guy!   He is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Call Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals at 701-840-5047 or email jenni.svfa@gmail.com for adoption details.

QUEEN RAINEY

This is Rainey, or Queen Rainey as she prefers to be called. Rainey recently went to her foster home and has settled in nicely. She isn’t too crazy about the dog and other foster cat that live in the house. They want to play with her, but she will only tolerate being around them as long as they realize their place, her being Queen and all. She is indifferent to them. She is very affectionate with her humans, but also likes her independence. Is your home Queen Rainey’s new castle? She is less than 1 year old, vaccinated, spayed and microchipped.  Call Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals at 701-840-5047 or email jenni.svfa@gmail.com if you have any questions about adopting Rainey.

JACK FROST-ADOPT FEE PAID

ADOPTION FEE PAID IN FULL!

Jack Frost is a very affectionate boy! He puts his arms on your shoulders when you hold him, and rubs your cheek with his head. He loves sitting in boxes (especially his Avon box) or on a soft spot by a window. At bedtime he'll lie next to you, but will probably be in his Avon box when you wake up! Jingleballs are his favorite toys. Jack is very good about using his litter box, and lets you trim his nails with a clipper. He's done well in small or large spaces, so would probably do fine in an apartment. If you'd love to be greeted every day with head rubs and loud purring, this sweet boy may be for you! He rides really well in the car when he needs to go to the vet clinic or travel with you on your other adventures. Jack Frost is FIV+, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.  Please call Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals at 701-840-5047 or email jenni.svfa@gmail.com if you are interested in Jack Frost or if you have any questions regarding FIV.

WHAT IS FIV? Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is one of the most common and infectious diseases of cats around the world. In infected cats, FIV attacks the immune system, leaving the cat vulnerable to infections. Although cats infected with FIV may appear normal for years, they eventually suffer from immune deficiency, which allows normally harmless bacteria or viruses found in the everyday environment to potentially cause severe illnesses. Though there is no cure for FIV, recent studies suggest that cats with FIV commonly live average life spans, as long as they are not also infected with feline leukemia virus. While FIV is contagious, cats typically do not transmit the virus by sharing an eating bowl with other cats or through other feline contact actions like:  Social grooming, sneezing, and sharing a litter box.

SOPHIE - FIV+ (ADOPT FEE PAID)

ADOPTION FEE HAS BEEN PAID!

Sophie is a very sweet girl! She loves to cuddle! Sophie also loves sleeping by her favorite person and she likes to get as close to you as she can. She has a very loud purr, so you can hear it when you are petting her, or she will just purr when she is on your lap. She loves cat nip! Sophie does get spooked very easily. Sophie was found outside and upon examination she was found to have several nasty bite wounds. Unfortunately, when she was taken to the vet for her wounds, she tested positive for FIV. Sophie is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.  Please call Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals at 701-840-5047 or email jenni.svfa@gmail.com if you are interested in Sophie or if you have any questions regarding FIV.
